Welcome back, Myer!

Welcome back, Myer!

Hudson and I had a great time checking out Hobart’s brand new Myer store this morning.

Free popcorn and fairy floss (which this big kid totally enjoyed!) plus tasty choc pretzel biscuits being served up by Masterchef Ben Milbourne.

And of course there were plenty of shopping bargains on offer in the sleek new store which is a glittering mix of bright lights, shiny metal and glass. I didn’t bump in to Jen Hawkins or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – apparently they’ll be making appearances later today.

But I did pick up a couple of bargains. For some extra discounts you can print out this family and friends flyer…

The special offers are valid for TODAY only. (Don’t rely on presenting  a digital copy at the cash register – mobile phone service in many parts of the building is woeful.)

Sadly the spacious parenting room in the old store (one of the best baby rest stops in Hobart) has gone, replaced by a lone disabled toilet. Very disappointing! A cleaner tells me a baby room is on the way but that it might not eventuate for a couple of years.

Apart from that the new Liverpool St store looks great. Much better than the makeshift Murray St store we’ve been tolerating since fire wiped out the original Myer store eight years ago (has it really been that long?

It’s nice to have you back, Myer!
